Marsh Dondurma, the blazing hot brass band from Jerusalem, celebrates its 18th anniversary with infectious music and wild beats from all over the globe.

Undoubtedly one of Jerusalem’s most exciting musical exports. Dondurma’s first concert took place between the spice stands of the “Machane Yehuda” market. Since then, the band has grown and developed its own luscious, unmistakable sound. In a sizzling pan, Marsh Dondurma stirs together middle eastern melodies with New Orleans grooves, Yemenite beats with Balkan riffs; Klezmer wails with booty-shaking funk.

The 16 piece brass band sure has been keeping it busy. They’ve recorded 7 albums, including a musical book for children; cooperated in concerts and recordings with top Israeli artists such as Beri Saharof, Shlomo Gronich, Shai Zabari, Evyatar Banai, Riff Cohen and New York’s klezmer legend Frank London.

Around the world Dondurma has played in various international festivals including:

Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), Guca Golden Trumpet Festival (Serbia), Cervantino Festival (Mexico), Red Sea Jazz Festival (Israel), Krakow Jewish Festival (Poland) and The Moscow klezmer festival, as well as performances in U.S, Croatia, China, Taiwan, Greece and Italy.
