A tribute concert marking the first anniversary of the passing of musician and composer Boaz Regev (z”l, of blessed memory).

The Boaz Regev Ensemble reunites the musicians and collaborators who shared the stage with the late musician and composer Boaz Regev (z”l). Carrying forward his artistic vision, the ensemble members have gathered to breathe new life into his rich body of work, delivering a musical experience that is both virtuosic and deeply heartfelt.

Boaz Regev was a master of the tar and kamancheh, a singer, and a composer. He deeply explored the Persian maqam tradition, Jewish piyut (liturgical poetry), and Middle Eastern musical traditions. His inspirations included his distinguished mentor, Piris Eliyahu, as well as the landscapes of Rosh Pina, where he lived and created for about a decade. Boaz found a profound connection between Jewish tradition, mysticism, and the depths of the maqam, shaping them into a deeply original musical language.

The concert showcases work that bridges traditional and modern styles. The repertoire features Boaz’s original compositions from the albums and singles he released during his lifetime, which garnered significant acclaim, alongside previously unreleased works from his archive.
