International Music Showcase Festival 2019 | DAY #2

The International Music Showcase Festival is celebrating 10 years of exporting and promoting some of the finest Israeli music to the world. Music showcase festivals take place all over the globe, aimed at sharing local music with top representatives from the global music industry. Israel’s musical showcase is produced by the Yellow Submarine and is thought to be one of the finest in the world.

We are off to the #2 night with 4 performances:

The Turbans

.A power trio born and raised in the city of Jerusalem .Blending everything from lo-fi garage rock&roll, psychedelic and electronics, the turbans deliver a blasting energy in their music

after releasing their debut album independently the band started working with Uri Wertheim with whom they released two 7” singels

.The Turbans are known for their energetic somewhat chaotic live shows

Wackelkontakt

A multisensual audiovisual saga by the Kardashians of the Jerusalem Underground. A performance of extreme dynamic range inspired by Industrial, Club, Hiphop, Noise, PostOrientalism and Elevator Music. Touching yet blood freezing vocals, mechanic drumming, epileptic imagery and accurate processing keep the audience close and pumped with adrenaline

In a year and a half since their first EP release WK did five tours in Europe, a performance in a luxury hotel, music for a fashion show, productions for dance, galleries and museums and five site-specific creations

Buttering Trio

Buttering Trio are three gentle souls from Tel Aviv trying to bring the funk to the desert. Usingheavy beats, fatbasslines and sweet yet poignant lyrics, they try to bring some peace in atroubled region.Whatstarted out as studio jams in a smoky basement in Berlin evolved into aworld-wide-touring three headed music-making love monster.Rejoicer, BenoandKerenDun are all musicians and producers, a fact that is felt in theiruncompromising sound. Their live show is a non-stop experience, one psychedelic groovyjourney throughthemixture of their subconscious minds. The trio’s combination of loop-basedbeats withlive instruments (saxophone, vocals, synths and bass) creates a natural andrefreshing flow between atmospheric sounds, jazz explorations, and broken rhythms.Theirpsychedelic voyage, (also known as the live show) has appeared in several places aroundthe globe through massive venues(JazzCafé in Camden,GlobalCopenhagen), underground clubs(BiNuu inBerlin,Loftas in Lithuania)and big festivals(Fusion Festival,Garbicz Festival, Strawberry Festival)

Shtuby

The red SHTUBY sensation rapidly conquering the world of electronic music is performance art integrated with theatrical circus like show and mixed with innovative electronics and jazz motifs, Oriental and funk. SHTUBY’s awe-inspiring show is a combination of visual elements, unique innovative sound and mesmerizing stage presence. During the show you are elated into a psychedelic energetic journey – bouncing and across-the-board ranging from the plaintive melody and the emotive up to rapid beats, sophisticated electronics and chubby bass lines

Equipped with Theremin, Synth, Eiwi and a variety of computers and tools installed in a unique control station SHTUBY creates a new sound angle, exciting and unpredictable. The combination of all this with the Band Experience makes every show new and unique. In the past year since emerging – the project was played hundreds of times on the stages of festivals, big events and clubs in Israel and all over the world from Eastern Europe all the way to Canada and China where SHTUBY is known as “The Long Red” and is popular with a rising rate of fans and followers

Meuban – After Showcase @ The Mazkeka

If one should try to describe Meuban, the label ‘post-rock’ will appear. However, the band pours an abundance of other influences into the implied pattern. With an attitude more suitable to the Rock-n-roll greats of the 70’s, Meuban create a balance between worlds: between post-rock, stoner-rock, psychedelia and kraut – and between uncompromising intensity to great sensitivity
