Jerusalem Art Festival: The Andalusian Project

The unique combination in the ensemble brings together instruments from all corners of the planet; from eastern instruments like the oud to the western saxophone giving their ancient music a contemporary vibrate sound.

The ensemble will present their take on the musical and textual pieces brought back to life from the Jewish Golden Age in Spain; An age characterized by Jewish-Muslim co-existence.

The project aims to bring together traditional Arabic pieces and contemporary texts. For the first time, Arabic texts receive a proper interpretation and are performed in both Hebrew and Arabic – a custom brought back from the Jewish Golden Age in Andalusia.
