Pedro Grass

Pedro Grass (Amit Ullmann) is a musician, actor and poet, one of the pioneers of spoken word poetry in Israel. Six months ago, he released his first solo album, which combines his poems from recent years.

Some songs are with no musical instruments and use speech as a melody.

The album moves between genres with ease, combining piano ballads, distortion, metal production and spoken word acapella.

The texts correspond with various song-writers in the history of the Hebrew word, from Yossi Banai to Gilad Kahana.

The album is built as one piece without pauses aiming to take listener on a journey. The album’s narrative is of loss, search and finding. The album opens with loss – of God, friendship and love, and towards the end Ullmann collects the pieces and creates something whole again.
