Jazz @ The Submarine: Raquy and Düm

This electrifying show features Turkish style darbuka drumming.  The ensemble performs intricate and dazzling compositions comprised of rhythms from Turkey, Egypt, Iran and India as well as funk, samba and hip hop beats.  A treat for the eyes as well as the ears.


In addition to the drumming pieces, the show includes Raquy’s dreamy melodic pieces.  In these songs Raquy plays the mystical 12 – stringed King Kemenche Tarhu, a futuristic version of the Persian spike fiddle.


Düm is thrilled to have master drummer Zohar Fresco as special guest!

Shaon Horef After Party @ The Submarine: Noga Erez

Noga is a producer, creator and singer and is a leading figure in Israel’s electro-pop scene.


Her debut album, which she wrote, composed and produced in collaboration with Ori Rousso was released last June under “City Slang” label.

Erez and Rousso received great recognition by being chosen to lead Apple Music’s campaign with their song “Dance while you shoot” from their debut album. They also starred in Apple’s commercial for IPhone X with their song “Off the rada”.

The School for Music and Silence is proud to present its ensembles in a unique evening, that will take the audience on a journey through different musical traditions- from andalusian music to Jazz,  Afro-Cuban music, Flamenco and music from the Balkan.


The evening features the school’s masters- Elad Levi, Omri Mor, Roni Iwrin, Yehuda (Shuky) Shveiky and Eyal Talmudi.

Jerusalem Art Festival: The Andalusian Project

Jazz @ The Submarine with: Marcelo Nami and Deborah Benasouli

Marcelo Nami and Deborah Benasouli Duo in a special evening, where they will perform original music alongside Brazilian music.


Deborah Benasouli started her way in theatre after studying at the Nissan Nativ acting studio and later on decided to focus on jazz singing. She moved to New York, where she studied with Bob Mover and Barry Harris. With her return to Paris, she performed in many of the famous Jazz venues and in a number of festivals.
She won in France the “Sancofa Soul Contest”the “Jazz Diva” competitions.


Her band’s first album “ElectricDiva” came out in France and was also distributed in Israel.
The ingenious jazz portal critic known as Citizen Jazz wrote: “Her art of singing is full, rich, joyful, wild and gentle, all at once, a gem”
Now in Israel, Deborah is performing in different project with amazing musicians like Marcelo Nami.

Born in a small town in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, Nami has already performed and recorded with the best Brazilian artists, among them Chico Buarque, Daniela Mercury, Ivan Lins and others. In Israel, he collaborated with Yoni Rechter, Shem Tov Levi and Shlomo Yidov. In addition to being a permanent member of the annual carnival album, Nami has two albums, Wind Toy and Back Again, which emphasize his love for the Brazilian tradition, but at the same time strive to innovate and break the conventions of the instrument. . “Marcelo has a lot of creativity, fitness improvisation, personality and a very impressive rhythm!” (Yoni Rechter)

“Lo Standartim” project in cooperation with Mira Awad

Mira Awad, singer, songwriter and actress. Born 1975 in Rameh village in the Galilee (Israel) to a Palestinian father and Bulgarian mother, currently living in Tel-Aviv.


Mira is a multidisciplinary international performer, as singer she collaborated with many international artists: Noa, Idan Raichel, Andrea Boccelli, Bobby Mc’Ferrin and others. As composer, Mira developed a unique fusion of sounds, combining the East with the West, weaving the Arabic language and it’s oriental ornaments with Western harmonies.


Mira is very much identified with the agenda of dialogue and co-existence, she’s a relentless peace activist who believes in anti-violence activity to build bridges towards resolutions.


“Lo Standartim” project, conducted and arranged by pianist-composer Tomer Bar, has hosted a hand full of Israel’s leading artists and is preparing a great new show for you to enjoy.

Mark Eliyahu, son of musician and composer Piritz Eliyahu, has been toying with the spotlight for a while now. He was raised on music as a way of life and applies the same love for it in his adult life.
